We did not arrive at Data Centres from the Data Centre industry. We arrived from the energy industry, and that is the only place anyone serious about building hyperscale infrastructure in this decade should arrive from.

A renewables story

Eppur’s founders, Jamie MacDonald-Murray and Peter King, spent the formative two decades of their careers building large-scale solar and wind across the United Kingdom, continental Europe and Brazil.

Together and apart, they have stewarded gigawatts of renewable generation through the full lifecycle that matters: site origination, grid connection, planning consent, capital structuring, EPC delivery, and the long tail of operations. The kind of projects that move a country’s energy mix. The kind of relationships, with grid operators, with sovereign capital, with landowners and ministries, that take a decade to build and cannot be borrowed.

It is not glamorous work. It is the work of substations and interconnection queues, of permits negotiated in three languages, of capital recycled across vintages. It is the work that built the renewable energy economy of the past twenty years. It is the work the next twenty will be built on too.

The TIGI chapter

Energy as the system, not the commodity.

A part of our heritage runs through TIGI, a renewable heat and electrification platform whose advanced solar thermal technology and cloud-controlled energy systems have been deployed across more than thirty countries.

TIGI’s discipline of marrying physical infrastructure to intelligent control software is in our blood, and it is the discipline we now bring to the buildout of AI compute. A Data Centre is not a building. It is a controlled energy system, power in, heat out, intelligence everywhere in between. The instinct to think of it that way comes from years spent treating energy as the system, not the commodity.

The most important infrastructure of the next decade will be built by the people who built the most important infrastructure of the last.
Why this lineage matters

The most consequential infrastructure buildout of our generation is the construction of the physical foundations of artificial intelligence, is not a software problem. It is not a real estate problem. It is not even, fundamentally, a hyperscaler problem.

It is an energy problem. Whoever can secure the power, the grid and the patient capital to build will define the next decade. That is the work we have done before. Now we do it for compute.

We bring to Eppur the same playbook that built our renewables careers: originate before the consensus, structure capital that matches the duration of the asset, partner with sovereigns and grid operators as long-term equals, and deliver on every promise we made when the meeting started. The buildings are different. The discipline is the same.


What comes next

The next decade of human progress will be measured in megawatts.
